It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 9th International Congress of the AfSBT to be held in Arusha, Tanzania from 19th to 22nd June, 2018 with the Theme: “Reducing Maternal and New Born Mortality: The role of safe blood Transfusion”   The AfSBT Management & Board of Directors is working closely with the NBTS Tanzania, Shades of Green Company Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and Scientific Organizing Committee to develop an excellent scientific program that covers blood transfusion processes from vein to vein where educational, clinical and developmental needs of a wide spectrum of participants from different part of the world can be met.

The scientific program will offer you a number of tracks to guide you through different topics such as donor recruitment, clinical transfusion, transfusion technology and quality, blood safety, immune Haematology, new cellular therapies and management and organization.
Besides the blood transfusion scientific program, the participants will have a great and unique opportunity to discuss and learn what global society is doing to effect change in improving transfusion medicine and National Blood Programmes to reduce maternal mortality in their countries. You are all encouraged to submit abstracts in the field of blood transfusion and women’s health and present your work at this prestigious meeting of professionals.
The Congress will take place at the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge’s Tanzania Convention and Exhibition Centre which is centrally located in Arusha City.
